I have seen a lot of misinformation regarding the block rewards, as players often let emotions get in their way. As any of my existing readers know, I'm always critical where it's due (such as during the latest exploit/bug), but I also give credit where it's due (like with the sale that's currently going on). So when it comes to things like block rewards, I'm following suit as well, and this last change, despite really shaking things up in the community, really had an unexpected end result.

The Notification From RollerCoin
Sadly, we were not really kept updated regarding the fact there was a massive block reward overhaul for RollerCoin. It came to many as a surprise, with some seemingly happy and some very upset about the declining earnings they're seeing after freon ended. Looking at it holistically, however, it paints a very different picture. While the RollerCoin staff only announced two league groupings in their notice, it actually affected everyone.
Why This Change in Rewards is a Net Zero
First, for those who aren't already familiar with the term "net zero," this means when both sides come out about equal. In this situation, what I'm speaking about is the overall pool payments that are made. Instead of looking at each league one by one (as many are claiming that the rewards are lower overall), I looked at all pools combined both before and after this change. The result kind of surprised me.

What is the end result of this change? Around $18. Due to how crypto works and all the fluctuations, this is a rounding error at most and a win for players otherwise. Higher leagues did see jumps in their payouts and lower ones saw decreases, likely done to promote the desire of people to jump to higher leagues. I'm sure we'll see a lot of shifting soon, so if you want to play it safe, you can follow Hammy.
Hammy's advice: sit still for now. Hold out the storm. Wait for it to settle. We are already starting to see some bigger shifts, as you can see in the image below (this is the change between yesterday and today, as of this writing, in terms of original players in the league, number now, and the delta/change. We should see those jump up even more over the next few days to a week, so I'll keep an eye on it and make a report once there's something actionable to follow. Until then, I highly suggest ignoring the noise (decreased earnings). Remember, we stay ahead of the herd -- we don't join it! And if you ever want to follow all of the leagues at once, remember to check out our own RollerCoin league page and calculator app!
